Frequently Asked Questions

A brazilian wax is the removal of all hair from the pubic area- front & tush. Leaving any hair is optional.

For best results, the hair needs to be at least 1/4 of an inch long, or the size of one grain of rice. It is suggested to wait a full two weeks to allow for enough growth.

Yes! Keep in mind, that you may be more sensitive due to varying hormone levels. It is asked that you freshen up prior to your wax & please feel free to consult with your doctor if you’re pregnant.

It is recommended to wait 3-4 weeks before coming back for your next wax. This can vary depending on your hair growth cycle.

Ideally, it is recommended to get facials once a month. It also depends on your skin concerns & goals. As your Esthetician, I will provide recommended skincare & a facial treatment plan that best fits you & your lifestyle.

A regular facial routine is more about skin health & maintenance than it is about luxury or pampering, although many do find it to be a very relaxing, enjoyable experience. Facials help increase circulation & stimulate the skin. They help slow down premature aging & drastically improve conditions such as acne, redness, rosacea & uneven skin tone. Facials are a great preventative treatment to help you beat wrinkles before they occur & can help you achieve lighter, brighter, younger looking skin. Men also enjoy regular facials to help minimize irritation, redness, ingrown hairs & razor burns associated with shaving.

Most people see results immediately, and your skin should feel different right away. The skin feels clean, smooth, hydrated & reflects a new level of health that is visibly noticeable. If the skin has more advanced long term needs, such as treatment of aging, acne or hyper-pigmentation caused by hormonal fluctuations or sun damage, results may not be immediately visible; however, skin health will continue to improve as you follow the advice from your Esthetician, continue regular monthly facial treatments & your home care regimen.

When you arrive, you will need to fill out a consent form listing contact information, allergies & any medications. A thorough skin analysis is performed by evaluating your skin under a magnify lamp. Skin concerns, goals, current & future products will be discussed, as well as a targeted plan of action to set you on a path to healthier skin. Expect time to breathe, detach from the outside world & fall into a blissful state of wellbeing!

Helpful Tips

It is recommended to exfoliate the area to be waxed BEFORE your appointment. This allows hair to breakthrough the surface, resulting in a cleaner hair removal.

It is also recommended to exfoliate AFTER your wax within 24-48 hours & then consistently in between wax appointments, especially if you are prone to ingrown hairs.

Avoid alcohol & caffeine 24 hours before your wax. Both can induce circulation of the blood, which can make your wax more painful. By avoiding altogether, it will make the process more bearable.

Please let your Esthetician know of any skin related allergies or medications. Certain antibiotics & blood thinners can cause skin to be more sensitive with waxing. Accutane users should stop taking their medication for a month before waxing. If using any topical Retin-A based products, please stop using them at least 7 days prior to your wax. This mainly applies to facial waxing. Retin-A creams can leave the skin susceptible to injury during waxing.

If you find that you have a low pain tolerance, it is suggested that you take a pain reliever like Advil about 45min before your Brazilian or Bikini wax. Avoid aspirin, as it can induce blood flow. Topical numbing creams work well to cut the pain in half or more. Always consult with your doctor about any medications.

Please avoid too much heat, such as saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis or intense exercising. Avoid wearing tight clothing for the first couple days to avoid skin irritation. Avoid swimming in the ocean or pools right away, as they could contain bacteria that can increase your chance of getting an infection. It is also recommended to avoid the sun immediately after any wax, as sun exposure can make you vulnerable to sunburn. Wait at least an hour & apply SPF to ensure the skin in protected.

The more you wax, the less hair will grow overtime & your level of discomfort will lessen. The hair can also become finer and less coarse. The more consistent you are, the easier it will get!
